As a Japanese person, I was very impressed by how authentic the flavors were — it really reminded me of meals I enjoy back home. The salmon roll, in particular, was outstanding. It was grilled to perfection, with a rich, savory flavor that was both satisfying and well-balanced. I also visited with my child, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming to families. The warm atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

One of the greatest Japanese sushi restaurants I have visited for sure. Sushi was fresh and very authentic just as what you would expect in Japan. Given the Boston location I feel it better guarantees the quality of the freshness. Other foods were definitely delicious as well such as the potato salad, yellowtail collar and clam chowder croquettes. A must if you are in the Boston location. Ambience was very nice too which can be used for dates, spending time with friends as well as family. As fancy as it was, the restaurant gave a very warm atmosphere for family with small children too. The staffs were definitely helpful in making you feel welcome :)

I’m a pretty seasoned consumer of sushi as from a train culinarian I like to think I understand the work. It was really bring to life authentic beautiful food. The most outstanding thing I ate tonight was the vegan karikage... I don’t typically like fried foods, but it was perfect flavor bald texture, bald it might be my favorite vegan sushi or favorite vegan dish I’ve consumed ever Can’t recommend this place more. The service was good quick everything was fresh textures were phenomenal. You know what I mean. This is legit sushi and I can’t give it higher praise

Underrated Japanese spot that deserves more love. I’ll admit I had doubts at first. The sushi hand rolls I had at their sister restaurant (Bosso Ramen Tavern) was mediocre, but this spot definitely exceeded expectations. The concept isn’t anything groundbreaking, but you don’t often see this kind of in-between sushi-izakaya hybrid in Boston. Most locals here go either full takeout or high-end, and restaurants that fall somewhere in the middle rarely thrive. Despite that, this place offers some of the best value in the neighborhood. I’ve been back a few times now, and every dish I’ve tried has been solid, especially considering the price point. Most people come here for their 38 Omakase Nigiri special, and to be fair, it’s a great deal. Nothing overly inventive, but the quality is a clearly better than your typical neighborhood sushi joint. Still, my favorite part of the menu leans more toward the small plates and grilled fish. The yellowtail collar, in particular, was right up my alley: fatty, oven-roasted, and crisped just right. It’s rare to find a cut like this, especially at this price, outside of high-end omakase spots. The miso black cod was also good. Lightly marinated, simply plated, and of course, tender. Among the small plates, the Salmon Belly Namban was my favorite. It looked slightly overcooked at first glance, but the pickling and brining were perfectly dialed in. Tender, fatty, and full of flavor. I actually liked it more than the black cod. And if you’re around on a weekday, the Kaiseki lunch might be the best sushi lunch deal in Boston. Three small plates (including that salmon namban), rice, salad, soup, and a mochi dessert for 19. Exactly the kind of spot I crave when I want Japanese comfort food that’s not covered in spicy mayo or wrapped in gold leaf. It’s a shame they’re not getting more attention. Hope they hang on, because I’ll definitely keep coming back.

Possibly the best meal I have had in Boston, and definitely the best sushi I’ve had in Boston. Melt in your mouth, fresh, unbelievable fish. The clam chowder croquettes were delicious and such a unique taste and combo. Potato salad was nothing like I’ve ever had. Black miso cod solid. Definitely will be back!

I’ve been to Sushi by Bosso many times, and I always leave happy. The food is absolutely delicious, with outstanding and consistent quality. The service is a 10 out of 10 — friendly, fast, and always welcoming. The space is cozy, and I especially love their weekday menu because it lets me try a bit of everything. It’s one of my favorite spots in Boston — every visit feels special!

Amazing and authentic sushi experience! We enjoyed omakase nigiri, which was truly outstanding! In particular, tuna, squid, and uni are my favorite. Their sake selection is impressive, and I highly recommend trying Suigei (dry) and Dassai (sweet and rich). The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions including sake. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
